Guide to Meloneras

"Bordering Maspalomas, stylish Meloneras combines the pace of a small resort with big-resort entertainment right on its doorstep."

Fancy combining all the action of a big resort with a small and quiet one? That's what you get with Meloneras. Perched on the edges of Maspalomas, this classy small resort is the holiday equivalent of a buy-one-get-one-free offer. Because staying here means you get its gorgeous, uncrowded beach and tranquillity, plus all the entertainment of Maspalomas at your beck and call. The long sand-and-pebble beach is a cracker. Washed by azure seas, it's skirted by a stylish, palm-dotted promenade of gift shops, boutiques, restaurants and bars backed by good-class hotels and apartments. Start your day with a fresh mango juice at a cafe and then flop on the sands to soak up the glittering sunshine. When the sun hits its highpoint, hotfoot it to the seafront to feast on traditional Canarian cuisine. How about 'sancocho', the mouth-watering local fish stew or sizzling paella topped with juicy prawns? Order ice-cold, fruity sangria alongside and slowly muse over whether your afternoon should revolve around a siesta or a sunbed. When you've had enough of the beach, there's a lot waiting in the wings. Play a round at Meloneras' stunning golf course. Take a long, slow meander along the seafront to Maspalomas' amazing sand dunes. Right beside the beach, these mini-mountains are a great playground for kids and provide the opportunity for Saharan-style camel rides.
