When it comes to child friendliness, holidays in La Pineda get a gold star. Much quieter than its boisterous neighbour, Salou, La Pineda is the sort of place where you can chill out and catch some rays, while the kids splash about in safe waters and do the 'bucket and spade' thing on the beautiful, sandy beach. La Pineda's Aquapolis has lots of fun rides, slides and a dolphin show. And just a mini-train ride away is Port Aventura, modelled on Busch Gardens in Florida. We went for a week - the resort is expensive to buy things like drinks, shopping and clothes, but I would recommend renting a jeep for a day and touring the countryside. There are some absolutely stunning beaches, if you want, look for them. Go north... more on this review
