'All the activities and amenities of a bustling resort. All the authentic friendliness of a Greek island village. And with bars restaurants and a great beach too, you really can have it all.'
The centre of Tsilivi is abuzz with shops, bars and tavernas. And the main street is just a hop, skip and a jump from the beach. The shore here is something special. The sea is clear and clean on a gently sloping seabed, so its fine sand shore is a perfect playground for children – and big kids, too. Rising up from the shore are plenty of cushiony-green fields and olive groves, with several strategically placed restaurants and snack-bars. So when you're not on the beach, you can easily lose whole days wandering in these parts. Not to mention horse riding and a whole variety of day trips. You could hire a bike for local exploration. There are scenic rural walks into the hills behind the resort. And Zante Town is just 5km down the coast – an easy bus ride to its shops, museums, port and fortress. As for after-dark entertainment, the many and varied bars in Tsilivi include music, karaoke and quiz nights, and there are disco's in the village centre. A well placed and well planned resort.

Tsilivi's cocktail bars and traditional tavernas are popular without being manic. There are a couple of karaoke bars, and two clubs if you fancy living it up.
There are several large supermarkets offering everything you could need during your holiday. You'll also find a few smaller shops in the resort selling more traditional items, such as embroidered goods or locally made clothing. Take home some olives and herbs to remind you of your stay. After sunset, streetside stalls appear, bedecked with good value, glittering necklaces, earrings and bracelets - gorgeous presents for those you've left back home.
Take a boat trip from Zante Town to the famous 'Zante shipwreck' - a sixty year old container ship that was being chased by the Greek navy under suspicion of carrying contraband goods when it ran aground in north Zante. It now lies half-buried in golden sands, and is a spectacular sight when viewed from the sea. You could venture further afield - perhaps to the nearby island of Kefalonia or the mainland? If you choose the latter, be sure to visit Olympia - the site of the original Olympic games. For a deep insight into the traditions of the island - attend a Greek night. By the end of the evening, you'll have tried 'ouzo', tasted local produce, listened to traditional music and maybe even had a go at the national dance.
