An introduction to Melinas Beach Villa

The location of this lovely little villa will appeal to young families and couples alike given its proximity to the beach and our nearby creche and club. Melina's Beach Villa is painted in traditional Lefkadian colours. It has been built off the ground by a distance of ten steps or so to enhance the views of the Ionian Sea and the shingle Agios Ioannis beach over the road. There are two bedrooms, one with French windows opening out onto the veranda which extends around the entire villa, with the double bedroom looking out over the front to the sea and the twin towards the trees in the rear garden. A recent addition is the small swimming pool at the front of the house, so both the pool and the beach offer a variety of ways to cool down during the hot summer days. Surrounding the pool is a paved patio area with dining furniture, barbecue and loungers, to relax in the warmth of the sun and admire the sea view. The gardens are filled with trees and plants offering both welcoming shade and privacy.

Aghios Ioannis and Milos beach are lovely long stretches of golden sand and Milos beach (Greek for windmill) even has a number of disused windmills that make a lovely backdrop to the kite surfers who take advantage of the cool sea breezes. If you tire of watching the waves and colourful kites, relax at one of the beach cafes not far from your garden gate. For a change of scene and a wider choice of eating places, Lefkas Town is only 3km away. Being pedestrianised, the main square is a great spot for people watching or letting children run around. Every August the town hosts an international Folk Dance Festival and with dancers from as far afield as Indonesia you may soon forget that you are on a very traditional Greek island.
