Just a minute's stroll from Nissi Beach and with views out to sea, the Tasia Maris gets a big tick on the location front. Plus, it's got shops, bars and restaurants more or less on its doorstep. As this hotel is part of the Thomson Gold range, you can expect big things in terms of food and entertainment. Buffets, gala dinners and al fresco dining lead the way on the food front while live music, comedy and glitzy shows are the order of the day come sundown.

Rounding things off are the bedrooms. Standard rooms are simple and fuss-free and come with added extras like minibars and satellite TVs. What's more, all rooms have a limited sea view. Upgrade, however, and you can expect bigger balconies with sunloungers, plus fluffy bathrobes and flowers and fruit when you get there.

We have stayed at 4 Gold hotels but we wont be going back to this one. The allocation is fantastic but it is a very noisy hotel, walls are paper thin we could hear the people in the next room snoring and beds are hard.There is always music blaring away... more on this review
